Realization of the Vankor field development project represents the result of an integrated approach to oil and gas reserves development with simultaneous introduction of hydrocarbon recovery, processing and transportation projects. Innovative solutions allowed successful resolution of technological problems, raised from complex reservoir structure, infrastructure-remote location, and harsh natural environment. Algorithms for determining vertical permeability distribution

The presented paper describes an extension of the earlier proposed technique for determining vertical permeability variation in a wellbore (permeability profile) by integrating results of log data interpretation with average reservoir permeability from well testing and the information on reservoir vertical heterogeneity from core samples or oil displacement dynamics. Mathematically, the objective is to find a functional relationship between true and log-derived permeability, represented in a given type of permeability distribution. As a solution of this task, it was proposed to use generalization of a well-known mathematical statistics tool – quantile-quantile transformation. The paper also presents a detail procedure for determining the Dykstra-Parsons coefficient (as a measure of vertical permeability variation) from historical data on oil displacement dynamics.

Design of inflow control devices in the Vankor field

An approach to selection of a horizontal well completion system design was proposed. The approach is based on the sector hydrodynamic modelling with the evaluation of oil, gas and water inflow into the well at different times. The approach consists in selecting swell packer location intervals, diameters and a number of nozzles in hydrodynamically isolated segments of well. The results of modelling are compared with the evaluation of inflow profile in a horizontal section of wellbore (PLT).

Permeability maps construction algorithms according to normal operation are given. An example for the restoration of the permeability of single-layer object in the database on the new wells start-up is considered. It is noted, that the use of these results at the permeability initialization and combined application of wells geophysical study data with the data of normal operation can significantly simplify the task of the hydrodynamic model adaptation and to increase the efficiency of the planning of geological and technical measures.

Rapid evaluation of the waterflooded reservoir energy and production potential forecasting

This paper concerns about simple mathematical (proxy) models for determination of the reservoir pressure and productivity prediction. The purpose of this work is to remove some restrictions of the previously reported adaptive calculation scheme for a wider usability in the real oil fields. We consider standard approaches to account for the compressibility and mobility changes of the rock fluids during waterflood. Also, practical applications of the developed proxy reservoir models for rapid calculations of the pressure and saturation distributions to achieve better oil field management are briefly discussed.

The article analyzes the main causes and sources of increase of salt ion saturation in produced water at oil fields operated by RN-Yuganskneftegaz Ltd. The paper also describes the results of introducing tested and new well technologiesin the given geological and technical environment. The potential of each technology group is analyzed as to the ability to reduce water salinity and increase the salt stability of the produce. The paper concludes with a success case study of a wide application of different well technologies to control salinity of produced water and step up the general stability of production content.

It is noted, that the hydrofracturing cracks geometry, calculated by specialists of contractors, often differes from the actual one, that significantly affects the design of systems of development and the optimization of reservoir pressure maintenance systems. Correlation model of the mechanical properties of rocks on basis of a standard set of loggings, which application can increase the accuracy of the crack geometry prediction, is considered. Correct calculation of the horizontal stress taking into account the tectonic and lithostatic stresses, as well as the porous elasticity coefficient, is realized.

Estimation of the efficiency of oil displacement by water from the reservoir rocks of the middle carboniferous fields of Bashkortostan

Laboratory research of porosity, permeability, oil displacement efficiency, residual water saturation, residual oil saturation of the core of the given reservoir rocks by direct and indirect methods are carried out. Correlation between porosity and permeability, permeability dependence of oil displacement efficiency are received. It is determined, that efficiencies of oil displacement by water from the Middle Carboniferous carbonates occupy an intermediate position within the range of parameters for carbonate rocks, including reservoir rocks of Tournaisian and Famennian stages.

Isolation of lost circulation zones in sidetracks with expandable profile liner

Tatneft Company widely uses its Expandable Profile Liner technology to mitigate drilling troubles. In 2008 severe lost circulationzones encountered while drilling a 124-mm. sidetrack from wells No. 207z and 5912z were shut off by 23-m and 60-m Expandable Profile Liners of P-146 type. The economic effect of application of trouble zone isolation technology using Expandable Profile Liners while drilling sidetracks amounted to RUR 392.8 thous. per well.

The results of operation of sideholes, drilled with the depression on the layer during their kickoff, in comparable geological conditions are given. It is concluded, that the skin factor significantly affects the initial fluid flow rates in horizontal wells and sideholes virtually at all development targets of Surgutneftegaz OAO. The tendency of increasing this effect with the deterioration of reservoirs filtration properties is established. It is noted, that as a result of this the use of completion technology (without subsequent operations of killing of wells) on depression for the individual objects may be the main condition of their profitable development.

The stability of tundra ecosystems of the Nenets autonomous district within seven license areas of Surgutneftegaz OAO is considered. The results of ranking of tundra ecosystems by the resistance to mechanical stress are given. Data of investigations of the current background level of pollution of surface water, sea-floor sediments and soils are presented. It is concluded that the pollution of surface waters and soils can be caused not only by anthropogenic impacts, but also natural factors; pollution of sea-floor sediments does not exceed permissible levels.
