Hydrofracturing crack geometry prediction

It is noted, that the hydrofracturing cracks geometry, calculated by specialists of contractors, often differes from the actual one, that significantly affects the design of systems of development and the optimization of reservoir pressure maintenance systems. Correlation model of the mechanical properties of rocks on basis of a standard set of loggings, which application can increase the accuracy of the crack geometry prediction, is considered. Correct calculation of the horizontal stress taking into account the tectonic and lithostatic stresses, as well as the porous elasticity coefficient, is realized.
It is noted, that the hydrofracturing cracks geometry, calculated by specialists of contractors, often differes from the actual one, that significantly affects the design of systems of development and the optimization of reservoir pressure maintenance systems. Correlation model of the mechanical properties of rocks on basis of a standard set of loggings, which application can increase the accuracy of the crack geometry prediction, is considered. Correct calculation of the horizontal stress taking into account the tectonic and lithostatic stresses, as well as the porous elasticity coefficient, is realized.
