This paper describes one of the great variation processes influencing on key efficiency indexes of the Company during drilling support, which has been automated and integrated at one software program for geosteering of horizontal wells. In classic case the process of formation evaluation is rather time-consuming process from the point of view preparing and preprocessing data gathering during drilling operations. It suggests that some of these processes can be optimized. But authors understand that formation evaluation process is highly science-based process and it is not aimed to exclude presence of the specialist for petrophysical interpretation. Paper describes realization of automating such processes as prior data preparing, data loading, preprocessing for subsequent interpretation by both formation evaluation specialist and geosteering specialist during drilling operations. Also paper takes notice in geosteering efficiency increasing of the horizontal wells due to introduction of such numerical tools as petrophysical calculator, petrophysical alarms, results viewer in one software program for wells geosteering.
In traditional geosteering process petrophysical interpretation is realized consistently and repeats some of process during loading and treatment of LWD data. In this turn, success of well placement at target zone with best reservoir properties depends on quality and operational efficiency of petrophysical report. Obviously, that for geosteering efficiency enhancement it is need to realize automating processes of loading, preprocessing and initial interpretation of LWD data, and provide geosteering and petrophysical interpretation processes simultaneously, influencing on quality of well placement decisions and on operational efficiency ofReferences
