Renat Muslimov has the following awards: Excellence in the Oil Industry (1983), Honored Geologist of the RSFSR (1989) and Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tatarstan.
He is a Winner of the State Prize of the USSR (1982), the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of science and technology (1994), three times Winner of the I.M. Gubkin Prize (1977, 1982, 2012), twice Winner of the Prize of the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry (1989, 1991).
Awarded two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1971, 1981), badge Discoverer of the deposit (1986), medals of National Economy Achievement Exhibition of the USSR, Veteran of Labor (1987), Order of Peoples’ Friendship (1994), badge of honor of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences For merits in the development of science and economics (1999), medal In memory of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan (2005), golden badge Miner of Russia (2003).
