Tectonic structure of the northern part of Krasnoleninsky arch by 3D exploration seismic data

DOI:
Questions of tectonic structure of the northern part of Krasnoleninskiy arch are considered. The main attention is paid to the problems of discontinuous faults selection by 3D exploration seismic data. It is concluded about significant effect of the fault tectonics on the generation of fractured reservoirs in the pre-Jurassic rock complex and the formation of oil deposits. The obtained conclusions provide additional criteria for the prediction of reservoirs and oil-bearing zones of pre-Jurassic rocks.

Petrophysical model of residual water saturation of the terrigenous rocks in the region of the reservoir – non-reservoir transition

DOI:
The residual water saturation factor of terrigenous rocks in the region of the reservoir – non-reservoir transition is considered within the framework of bidisperse percolation model. The scaling function allowing uniformly to describe the relationship between the residual water saturation and the volume content of granulometric fractions and between filtration-capacitive properties of terrigenous rocks is obtained with  use of self-similar transformation of variables. The obtained results are compared with empirical data.

Geochemical and thermogeodynamic criteria for prediction of Western Siberia basement oil and gas content

DOI:
The prospects for oil and gas content of the pre-Jurassic rocks in Western Siberia are considered. The first detailed study of the material composition of the basement rocks to a depth of 500 m on the area of Rogozhnikovskoye and framing its license sites taking into account modern ideas about their formation is executed. The estimation of thermobarometric parameters and component composition of the gas-liquid inclusions in crystals, the analysis of carbon isotope composition in the oils and hydro-geological characteristics of the exposed rocks, re-interpretation of magnetic and gravimetric anomalies, isotopic study by the method of U-Pb zircon geochronology, palynological determinations and aerospace decoding are carried out. It is shown that the study area is composed of two macroblocks: metamorphic and sedimentary-volcanic ones. A description of each block is given. The conclusion is drawn that the studied area of the Earth’s crust is a tectonic collage of blocks, differing by petrological characteristics and structural-metamorphic evolution.

Evaluating feasibility of cap rock fracturing during cyclic steam stimulation at the Ashalchinskoye natural bitumen field

DOI:
Maximum allowable steam injection pressures for CSS wells at the Ashalchinskoye field are validated. A simulation study has demonstrated, that wellhead pressures of around 1.5-1.7 MPa can not ensure cap rock fracturing and steam breakthrough to the surface, provided that minimal cap rock thickness is estimated at 4 m, and excellent lateral homogeneity is observed. Steam breakthrough may occur only through local weak zones, for example, in the vicinity of poorly cemented wells, as well as through small-sized regions of higher fissures.
