Key words: high-viscosity oil, reservoir simulation, Russkoye field, sector and full-scale models, upscaling of results, technical requirements to models.
The main difficulties while modeling high-viscosity oilfields were studied. Based on Russkoye oil-and-gas field development design, approaches to reservoir modeling were proposed along with minimum technical requirements to models that enable taking into account specific features of development of such fields.
