Bashneft JSOC has successfully implemented multilateral horizontal drilling on Lemezinskoye oil field. The target formation is the Artinskian-Sakmarian carbonates of the Lower Permian. Based on the modeling results the open-hole multilateral horizontal completions were recommended as a development option, assuming the potential to achieve the approved recovery factor and secure the maximum well productivity. Two multilaterals drilled in 2011 supported the choice of the development concept and proved to be highly efficient and productive. The achieved productivity index was significantly higher than that for analogue wells.
