Protection of oil pipelines against hydraulic shock phenomenons by the pressure surge smooth systems

Protection of oil pipelines against hydraulic shock by the Pressure Surge Smooth Systems (PSSS) is examined. The arrangement and operation of the PSSS is shown. The mathematical modeling demonstrates the stable operation of the PSSS if discharge coefficient of the vented valve is no constant but it depends on the pressure difference between the PSSS cavities.
