Steam chamber forming in steam-gravity recovery project in Ashalchinskoye heavy oil field

Results of steam assisted gravity drainage pilot project in the Ashalchinskoye heavy-oil field are described. Production parameters of horizontal wells differing in geologic setting have been analyzed. It has been shown that the technology is effective for different fluid saturation conditions and may also prove effective in complicated conditions when bottom water is tapped.
