Key words: submersible pump, hydro-abrasive wear, gas separator, abrasive contaminants.
It is shown, that the hydroabrasive destruction of centrifugal gas separator casings is due to a local increase in the concentration of abrasive particles in a vortex, forming in the flow channel. The effect of feed, concentration of gas and abrasive particles on the vortex formation spot and casing hydroabrasive destruction rate is studied.
