Questions of application of 3D seismic prospecting in solving problems of geological survey and development of oil and gas fields are considered. As the line of increasing the effectiveness of 3D technologies the ways of increasing of the vertical and lateral resolution of the final results, some requirements for the methodology and execution of seismic operations are offered.
