Substantiation of water-oil displacement factor in designing field development

Certain issues of concern are considered that relate to the validation of water-oil displacement factor when generating oil recovery factor feasibility studies and field development documents. Pressure gradients are compared when running laboratory experiments on core and flooding the productive layer. Recommendations for determining residual oil saturation for undersaturated reservoirs are provided. Account of cutoffs of petrophysical parameters is offered when validating displacement factors.
