Results of commercially applied cathodic protection of well casings in Tatneft OAO

This paper presents data on corrosion state of well casings and methods of its inspection applied in TATNEFT. The results of commercial application of cathodic protection technology for casing protection using external current are considered. Statistical relationship between reduction of corrosion failures and protective current intensity is determined. Installation of cathodic protection systems in TATNEFT is also discussed.
