Comparison of the technical and economic characteristics of modern methods is presented in order to reveal most efficient technique of chemical and/or technological process control of olefin containing hydrocarbons. Advantages of some spectral techniques over chromatographic ones were found in operating costs and in a number of technical merits, particularly in analysis time and in precision of integral content of main olefin classes determination. It was established, that Raman spectroscopy as a method of distant stream analyses exceeds on set of technical characteristics alternative spectral methods in determination of total olefins, their main classes and structural types correlating with chemical activity. Unlike to NIR chemometric models the developed Raman method need not corrections under changes of raw material and hydrocarbon fractions. Promising possibilities of Raman spectroscopy are expected both in laboratory and in distant control via fiber optics of olefin containing hydrocarbons under thereof industrial chemical and technological process stages.
