Increase in drilling efficiency on an example of ERD well in Odoptu-more field

Rosneft Well placement center have accumulated experience of utilizing different LWD tools during horizontal drilling. In this paper two main advanced geosteering techniques are described and compared on an example of most challenge ERD well drilled in offshore Odoptu-more field. Reactive and proactive geosteering techniques advantages and limitations are pointed. Importance of pre job analysis and collaboration in multidisciplinary team are also shown. Case study results and conclusions can be used by oil and gas companies, since geosteering market increases very fast in Russia.
