Geotechnical principles of fracturing size selection

The paper discusses the effect of proppant specific volume on hydrofrac efficiency in Tatarstan oil fields. Case studies of hydrofrac planning using the unified fracture design are presented. It has been demonstrated that when deciding between available hydrofrac technologies involving high volumes of proppant preference shall be given to TSO and Frac-Pack technologies.
