Drilling fluid optimization procedure on the basis of solving the inverse problem - determination of the composition of the fluid by its technological parameters, which is possible only in the presence of adequate mathematical model of drilling fluid properties, is given. The advantages of computer simulation for control of technological parameters of drilling fluids during wells construction are shown.
