The modern approach to core data analysis application for studying of reserves structure of carbonate deposits of Zarubezhneft JSC

This article provides an overview of practical application of the whole core analyses results in the study of productive carbonate deposits D3fm(III+IV) of the North-Khosedayuskoye field. The litho-facies features of reservoir formation were studied. Detailed correlation of the cycles of relative change of sea level was shown that reservoir of the III formation member is more laterally continuous than overlying reservoir of IV formation member. An integrated approach to the fracture analysis allows obtaining the full understanding of the fractures reservoir distribution. The conclusion is based on the assumption that the microscale cracks, diagenetic macro cracks and cracks along the stylolite seams have no significant impact on the filtration processes in the formation. According to research of whole core there was identified the type of fractures which most likely able to influence on filtration processes in the formation. The results of research are based on the re-interpretation of Borehole Image Logging (BHI). Analysis of primary BHI interpretation in core intervals shows that the amount of conductive fractures are 13 time higher than amount of fractures in core. In summary, the results of whole core research are recommended to take into account for the geological and hydrodynamic modeling, further field development and new wells placement.
