Key words: carbonates, acid fracturing, hydraulic fracturing, well acidizing, large volume acid treatment, flow rate decreasing, duration of increased flow rate.

This paper briefly describes the history and experience of acid treatment almost from the beginning of the Samara region deposits development. A separate chapter is devoted to lessons learned of hydraulic fracturing with proppant in wells that penetrated the carbonate reservoir; the analysis of follow-up working of the wells has become a prerequisite for the initiation of the project of the combined acid and proppant fracturing.
