Key words: grid block, horizontal well, basin and reservoir modeling, relative error, cumulative oil production.

The paper analyzes the effect of grid block sizes on performance of reservoir developed by vertical and horizontal wells. Based on the analysis of the forecast reservoir performance, dynamic plots of cumulative oil production, oil production rate and water cut versus grid block size have been obtained. Concrete grid block sizes have been empirically found that do not lead to any noticeable change in reservoir performance when the grid is downscaled.
